Last week we re-finished our floors. We had to move our furniture about three or more times -- Even the stove and washer dryer (the sketch below is the back of those). We also had to cover everything we could with clear plastic. So these are some randoms from that!

Chris and I just finished watching The Rocketeer. Great movie -- lots of fun. The above sketch is just a funny doodle. Basically we're curious as to how America never noticed a giant blimp with a Nazi symbol on it..?

Chris gave me a sewing Machine for Christmas this year and I finally got a chance to try it out. Saddly I learned quickly that I'm a pretty piss poor sewer. Chris and I read through the instructions together and finally got it all set up. We first tested it out on a very spongy fabric that had alot of give this didn't go to well. So we thought we'd try paper. The above photo is just a few of the different stitches the machine can do. The one just below is kitty lounging on some of the fabric scraps I picked up at fabric land. He enjoys sewing just as much as I do!

Here's my first project a couple of simple pillows. They turned out pretty good but I need to practice my slip stich.

As promised, way before Christmas, here are a few of the charms I made for friends and family. The charms are sea glass from the shores of Prince Edwars Island. The most comon ones are Brown, green and white from beer, wine and clear glass. We picked up quite a few of tho's. Blue is a bit harder to find, we only found 5. And the hardest to find is red. Needless to say we couldn't find any reds.

These were made useing a jewlery wire. I used needle nose plyers to wrap the wire around and kink the wire to make it snug.

So on the way back from the washroom I thought of something and had to write it down (it makes it more real!) I've just decided I'm going to grab inspiration from the movies. I'm going to pick a movie I've recently watched and sketch from memory. I think this will give me a good start point when drawing. Half the time when I pick up my laptop or pencil I don't have a clear image in my head of what I want to draw. This way I'll have a clear subject and I can put my own spin on things. Since I watch so many movies, I'm hoping this will get me to pick up a pencil and draw more. Not to mention you can all make fun of my movie taste! hehe

Watching the movie Chitty Chitty Bang Bang for the first time. I'm really enjoying the style and its pretty cute, storywise. You just don't get children movies like this anymore. Here's a quick sketch of the little girl.

So I have to admit it, as a little girl I was the crazy horse girl... Yes, I ran around and everything had to be about horses. That is until I actually got one. So, thinking about that, I thought I'd draw some silly horse thing! I just started painting her, I'm planning on playing around with it much more but thought I'd post what I have so far.

December is always crazy. But I hope to be posting lots of crafty McCrafty things soon. Well I hope its soon seeing as I need them for Christmas presents! I'll be doing a wide varaiety, some thing I've done before like scarves and others I'm just testing out for fun like jewelery! Woot Woot!

I've started up life drawing again and I can see that I'm improving but I still struggle with conte. But I'm really looking forward to this Christmas. Two full weeks in Ottawa! Maybe this time I'll be able to hit the Museum of Nature.

More Bus

On the bus I play a little game. I stay positive and try to find one thing I like about each person around me. Some times its a persons fashion, smile, big nose or the fact that their butt crack is exposed to everyone behind them [: Today it was the crazy man with a soda pop who kept slurping and "ahhh!" ing after each sip. To some -- extreamly annoying. To me -- Highly amusing!

Buses 101

Chris and I just recently moved and we now take the bus every morning and night. I'm sure this isn't anything new for most people but this is my first Bus experience. Back in Ottawa I never had to take the bus to this extent and I've been lucky enuff to walk to work till now, so I guess I'm considered a newbie in buses 101. Mostly what I'm so fascinated about is the amount of personality. People can be so interesting. So, here's a 30 min sketch of people who've stuck with me.

Knitters Loom

I just realized I've never posted any of my scarves! Seeing as there's a little chill in the air and all the stores have out their fall line up it seems appropriate now to upload photo's of the scarves I've done in the past. These are some of my favorite. I work on the Knitters loom from Ashford. Unfortunately you can't do any patterns on the knitters loom but you can experiment with lots of different wool and colour, not to mention it takes only a couple hours to whip one of these babies up! I've just started a new one its all warped and ready to go but I have quite a bit of work to do (actually when I was warping it I should have been working.... ) I hope to have it finished before our trip out east. You'll have to wait for photo's since were moving very soon and every thing's in Boxes [:

Hello again

We'll I promised these quite a while ago... But here they are Zoo Drawings! Like I said before I don't have very many but I made up for it by including some recent sketches inspired by BBC's Robin Hood. British TV may not be up to par as far as tech goes but I have to say I really enjoy their adventure, drama series. Its a nice contrast to everything else on TV.

Alright so I was working on a nice little sketch and was going through some color.. and then my laptop decided to die on me, as in the battery died. I lost all my work. Then! I figured I'd re-do the sketch I had in mind but ended up being an idiot and drew right on the background. uhg! So as your looking at this sketch keep in mind I couldn't erase but there was alot of Ctrl-Z happening!
